Moot court competition for the trial of Israel’s officials with the theme of crimes against the Palestinian people

Moot court competition for the trial of Israel’s officials with the theme of crimes against the Palestinian people

The criminal actions of the Zionist regime (Israel) against humanity and human nature have always stained the history of this regime with blood for several decades. The Palestinian people, being the main victims of these crimes, apart from the sorrow of the occupation of their homeland, have also experienced the sorrow of losing their loved ones in various ways. For this reason, they are considered the most representative examples of suffering and sadness in the contemporary era. These people have always fed up the officials of the aforementioned regime with their stubborn resistance; a process that has brought the anti-human nature of these officials to the fore in the form of numerous attacks on Gaza over many years. The new round of Israel attacks, which began in mid-October 2023, has been a clear and heartbreaking manifestation of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide. Regardless of natural limitations, these attacks have brazenly trampled international human rights documents and treaties.

Accordingly, the “United Nations Charter”, “Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its Covenants”, “Genocide Convention” and “Geneva Conventions” are among the international documents violated by Israel. Due to the presence of the Palestinian government in the Rome Statute, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has jurisdiction over the crimes of Israel against the Palestinian people based on the above-mentioned documents. Therefore, the “Other Face of Human Rights” research group is trying to implement a moot court competition based on the International Criminal Court to deal with the mentioned crimes; an action, which will certainly be used as a precursor to the future trial of the Israel’s officials in international courts. To participate in this event, lawyers, professors, students, and experts of international law can send their bills (based on the mentioned theme) to the secretariat from 23 October 23 to 22 November 2023 via this email: info@hriui.com.
