

The Human Rights Institute of the University of Isfahan is pleased to announce a call for papers for the eighth issue of Datikan Analytical Quarterly. We invite submissions from students, academics, and researchers interested in contributing scholarly articles or analytical notes on the overarching theme: “Colonialism and the Right to Self-Determination: From Historical Roots to Contemporary Conflicts”.

Submission Guidelines
- Originality: Submitted works—whether articles or notes—must be original, unpublished, and prepared exclusively for this journal. Submissions previously published in any journal, website, or media outlet will not be accepted.
- Writing Approach and Methodology: Submissions should adopt a descriptive-analytical approach. Purely descriptive or compilation-based writings without analysis are discouraged.
- Structure of Research Articles: Research articles (not analytical notes) must follow a standard academic format including the following sections:
Abstract
Introduction
Literature Review
Main Body
Conclusion
References
- File Format: Submissions must be in Word format, using Times New Roman font, size 12 for the main text. A separate Word file should be attached containing the following author information:
Title of the article or note
Full name(s) of the author(s)
Academic degree and field of study
Affiliated university or institution
Contact phone number
Email address
A passport-style photo
- Title and Keywords: The title must not exceed 12 words. Each submission should include 3 to 5 keywords that accurately reflect the core themes of the work.
- Word Count:
Papers: Up to 7,500 words
Analytical notes: Between 800 and 2,500 words
- Thematic Coherence: Each issue of the journal focuses on a specific overarching theme, which authors are expected to adhere to in both title and content. For example, if the theme for the issue is “Human Rights and Weapons of Mass Destruction,” suitable topics may include: “The Role of Nuclear Weapons in Threatening the Right to Life: The Case of Japan” Authors must avoid generic or broad discussions that merely restate the issue title.
- Bilingual Publication: Accepted works will be translated and published in English. Therefore, authors are encouraged to ensure that their writing is structured and articulated in a manner that remains coherent, fluent, and accurate upon translation.
- Referencing and Citations: All references, both in-text and bibliographic, must comply with APA style. Legal instruments (such as conventions, resolutions, declarations, etc.) should only be listed by title in the final references section and are exempt from APA formatting.
- Editing Rights: The editorial board reserves the right to conduct both technical and academic editing of submissions in case of significant linguistic or research deficiencies that are not adequately addressed by the authors. However, the intellectual integrity and originality of each work will be fully preserved throughout the editorial and publication process.
- Certificate of Acceptance: All accepted articles and notes will receive an official Certificate of Acceptance issued by the Human Rights Institute of the University of Isfahan. Upon request, certificates can be issued in both Persian and English.
